New generation of «VEGA» series ironing rollers
Choice of ironing machines nowadays is not a small headache for laundry equipment consumer. Consumer is keen to find a model, ensuring high performance and quality of ironing, with contemporary, reliable and long-life design, easy operation, reduced operating costs and at an affordable price.
Since the beginning of the 2000s, «Vyazma machine-building plant» has developed and put in mass-production the ironing rollers of the LG series. In 2011, production of a new generation of rollers of «Vega» series was launched: VG-1630 model (ironing width of 1600 mm) and VG-2030 (ironing width of 2000 mm).
What is the fundamental difference between the VG series rollers and the previous LG generation?
VG roller model is more up-to-date. Microprocessor controller manages the ironing speed and the temperature of heating. VG roller has a highly efficient temperature control device, thereby the temperature of ironing can change smoothly from 80 to 200 0C, allowing to achieve a sustainable temperature distribution along the entire length of the shaft. VG series rollers have a continuously frequency-controlled (inverter) shaft rotation drive, making it possible to set any ironing speed in the range from 2 to 5 m / s. Servo drive is used, being the mechanism for feeding and pressing the tray to the rotating shaft. As a result, the tray is smoothly, evenly pressed against the shaft with a certain force. Clamping mechanism in LG series rollers was manual. Fan, installed in the roller, contributes to a more efficient removal of steam through the perforated shaft, thus there is a vacuum effect, increasing the quality of ironing and productivity, additional to moisture evaporation through heating. Beyond that, the new rollers have safety elements to protect the operator's hands – there is a bar on the side of the laundry supply, the drive stops and an audible alarm is heard once its is touched. There is also automatic roller shutdown for protection against overheating in case of premature shutdown by the user: the roller turns off only when the minimum temperature is reached. VG rollers structure is made of a thinner sheet of metal and specific quantity of metal is less than in LG, thus the machine has modern mass characteristics.

What is VG roller consisting of? What is the roller shaft, the ironing element made of?
The ironing tray («chute») of the VG roller is made of polished stainless steel. It is planned to use carbon steel with chrome plating in the near future for further increase of heating uniformity and improvement of the quality of ironing, as it is abrasion-stable and long-lasting. There are flat heaters on the back side of the ironing tray, contributing to reduction of power consumption and heating the ironing surface more evenly, due to a higher heat transfer efficiency. 4 temperature sensors are installed on the tray to control the uniformity of heating. The shaft of the VG roller is thin-walled and perforated for possible removal of moisture through the shaft. The shaft is wound with stainless springs – SPRINGPRESS (Belgium), making the shaft elastic and ensuring the most tight fit of laundry to the ironing tray, as well as increasing the operational life of fabric winding greately. There is winding, made of heat-resistant fabric on top of springs. As fabric is compressed during operation and the shaft diameter decreases, the springs balance this effect. Thereby, the winding fabric lasts longer (at least a year), while the service life of winding without springs is 3 months. There is a linen cover wound on the shaft on top of the winding fabric, which has a safety function, as well as increases the operational life of the winding.
The operational life of VG rollers is 8-10 years.
Today, the design of «Vega» series rollers meets or exceeds foreign-made analogues. Our sales of ironing equipment have increased upon introduction of a new roller generation. The customer is sensitive of the fact that by paying a higher price, he gets higher-quality products in top configuration at a price well below the similar imported rollers of the same configuration. If there is no difference-why pay more? The client chooses «Vega» series rollers, as they are of high quality, meet all international standards and are much cheaper than the imported ones.
