«Vega» ozonizing cabinet. New level of laundry services

You can not clean in a commonly accepted way such things as sport shoes, a motorcycle or bicycle helmet and an expensive fur coat. But this things definitely need at least periodical disinfection. There is one efficient solution for this case - «Vega» VSHO-800 ozonizing cabinet for ozone treatment of various products, such as fur coats and hats of expensive furs, theatrical costumes that need to be refreshed, sports and fire individual equipment, various shoes, dry-cleaned products smelling perchloroethylene, children's toys and much more.

Design

Engineers of JSC «Vyazma machine-building plant» studied theoretical foundations of ozonation, conducted extensive tests of various existing analogues, identified their strengths and weaknesses, and designed «Vega» cabinet VSHO-800 based on the research conducted.

The lead unit of the cabinet is the ozonator. This is a special Russian-made electrical device, generating ozone from the air.

The purpose designed cabinet body is made of high-quality metal with a special protective coating.

Some «hand-crafted» manufacturers manage to make such a cabinet based on display refrigerator, which is not intended for ozonation.

The working module houses removable shelves and a crossbar to place products for ozonation. Products are loaded into the module through the loading door.

There are the following locking devices in the cabinet assembly to ensure safe operation:

  • eliminating possible master program start with the loading door open.
  • eliminating possible opening of the loading door before full completion of program operation.
  • automatic heater shutdown once the temperature of the heating element exceeds 1000C and the temperature of air exiting the exceeds 600C.

The cabinet design was simplified and its cost was cut due to some original solutions and Russian-made components used. For example, it was decided to remove the window on the door, since there is no need to observe the «invisible» ozonation process. In addition, the cabinet is fully automated and operates according to the set program, so that you do your business meanwhile.

This is also due to another less evident problem, detected in operation only. Complete integrity is difficult to ensure in ozone cabinets with windows, as all seals have different service life, and the fewer they are, the longer the product life is. Since the integrity of the cabinet is one of the most important components of safety when working with ozone, seals of the VSHO-800 cabinet doors are made of a special material, more durable and resistant to ozone.

VSHO-800 cabinet is maximally easy to maintain, designed for connection to a conventional 220 V network and has a size of 199 sm height, 80 sm width and 65 sm depth. The cabinet version with a heater (with index «C») provides for easy drying of products without mechanical shear as well. Drying conditions are adjustable. The cabinet has swivel wheels for comfortable installation.

Control

Since the topic of ozonation is quite new and there are still not enough specialists in this field, we have designed a cabinet with very flexible settings of ozonation modes and the most powerful ozonator in the market, producing up to 15 grams of ozone per hour. Thanks to this, you can select the desired mode for specific odors, guided by accumulated experience, and not be limited to general basic programs.

The cabinet is equipped with a controller, storing up to 10 programs. 4 programs in the controller are pre-installed at the factory (changeable), and user can program 6 more at his own discretion:

1. «Refresh» ozonation - 15 minutes.

2. «Anti-odor» ozonation - 30 minutes.

3. «Anti-bacteria» ozonation - 45 minutes.

4. «Drying» - 60 minutes. 

Any cabinet program includes two stages:

1) ozonation or drying (set in the controller);

2) purging.

Total operating time of any program and purging time are set in the controller. Maximum time of the ozonation process is programmed up to 99 minutes.

Ozonation process

Ozonation process comprises three repeated steps, which duration is set in the controller:

Step 1. Ozonator is on for the set time. Ozonator has an in-house fan for air influx from the upper area of the cabinet and ozone release into the operating module.

Step 2. Once the ozonator is on, a pause is held for a set time. A pause is necessary to ensure time for the generated ozone to come down under its weight (ozone is heavier than air) on the processed products, not exposed to the ozonator fan.

Step 3. Fan placed in the lower cabinet module is on for a set time at the next step, releasing ozone accumulated there up into the area of the processed products location. Each step duration is controlled by controller settings.

Purge process is completed by means of two simultaneously operating fans. Fan in the cabinet lower module draws-in air from the room, while the second one mounted on the roof of the upper module draws -out the ozone-air mixture from the cabinet into ventilation.

Drying program is performed during the operating time set in the controller and follows the same way as purging, but the air is passed through the activated heater in the cabinet.

To start the ozonation process, the necessary things are placed inside the cabinet: shoes and hats on removable shelves, and clothes on hangers on a crossbar. The cabinet door is closed tight and locked at program start until the latter is fully completed. Ozone used in cabinet purging process is released into ventilation and decomposes fast in the atmosphere. VSHO-800 cabinet fully complies with all standards of the Eurasian Economic Union and has a declaration of conformity.

Ozonation efficiency

Cleaning of products in the ozonizing cabinet allows almost complete elimination or significant reduction of existing bacteria, viruses, mold, dust mites; removal of foreign odors, such as tobacco, perfume. It is also efficient against such unpleasant odors as sweat and urine (including that of pets). The smell is not concealed, but eliminated by destroying bacteria, being its source. This effect is achieved due to high oxidizing capacity of ozone, being gas of three oxygen molecules without any impurities. For most efficient removal of stubborn odors, it is recommended that the ozonation process is final, since it is necessary to remove dirt first, being the source of smell, by washing or dry cleaning, and then remove the remaining smell. The unpleasant smell is likely to persist after a while, because the not removed dirt, being the source of smell, may be the place for bacteria to grow again. As a rule, manufacturers of similar equipment do not mention this. Do not forget about ozone-sensitive materials, for which the processing should be short – 20-30 minutes. In order to avoid damage, clean dirt first and then perform ozonation to remove stubborn odors from products made of such materials.

Application

Ozonation process includes no mechanical shear, thus products are processed without risk of damage, and this is one of the main advantages of such disinfection.

Moderate price of VSHO-800 equal to 180 thousand rubles means that its purchase is cost-neutral, this service is inexpensive, affordable and popular, and the payback period is low

This service will be in demand both in dry cleaning and in various laundries in addition to the core cleaning process.

«Vega» ozonizing cabinet will fit perfectly into the concept of a fitness club, bowling, ice rinks with skate rental, skiing centers with ski rental for fast disinfection of sports shoes and equipment after use. Moreover, availability of such equipment improves image of the institution, demonstrating concern for the customer.

Ozone treatment of products is also in demand in other areas. For example, in a modern shoe repair shop to provide shoe treatment service against fungus and unpleasant odors, in hotels, sanatoriums, hospitals for disinfection of pillows, mattresses, cotton blankets (i. e. things not intended for washing), fire stations for treatment of equipment to eliminate the smell of smoke, laboratories, chemical and oil industries.

Ozonation service has gained popularity in self-service laundries in Europe. In Finland, for example, costumes in one of the theaters in Helsinki are processed in an ozonizing cabinet for refreshment. Ozonation service is in demand in many other areas of life too.

Summing up, it may safely be said that VSHO-800 cabinet turned out to have more capacity and reliability compared to domestic and imported analogues, and is cheaper as well. More importantly, it is a fully tested product, manufactured in factory environment, but not assembled by «craftsmen as a kitchen-table effort» a month after the order.
